Cognitive Processing Therapy

Move forward with greater clarity, confidence and trust in yourself.

Trauma can leave you feeling stuck in painful memories, self-blame, guilt or beliefs that make it difficult to feel safe and move forward. Cognitive Processing Therapy provides a structured and compassionate way to understand how trauma has shaped your thoughts, emotions and view of yourself.

Through evidence-based trauma therapy, you can begin processing what happened, challenge the beliefs that continue to cause distress and develop a more balanced perspective—without minimizing what you experienced.

What Is Cognitive Processing Therapy?

LOTUS

Trauma can change how you see yourself, other people, and the world around you. Even when the experience is over, beliefs shaped by what happened can leave you feeling unsafe, responsible, ashamed, or unable to move forward.

Cognitive Processing Therapy—or CPT—is a structured, evidence-based treatment for PTSD and trauma-related difficulties. It helps you recognize the “stuck points” that may be keeping painful emotions and trauma responses in place.

Together, we explore these beliefs with curiosity and compassion. The goal is not to minimize what happened or force you to think positively. It is to help you develop a more balanced understanding of your experience—one that reduces self-blame and supports healing.

How CPT Can Help

Begin questioning the belief that you were responsible for what happened.
