Scheduling Appointments:
Booking an appointment with Harmony Healing Psychotherapy is designed to be simple, accessible, and flexible. You can schedule directly with us or conveniently book online through the Jane App at a time that works best for you. Our calendar is regularly updated with new availability, allowing you to choose from a variety of appointment times that can accommodate busy schedules, school commitments, work obligations, or family responsibilities. If you have any difficulty booking or are unsure about availability, we are always happy to assist and guide you through the process.
Intake Process:
To ensure a smooth and supportive beginning to therapy, we kindly ask that all new clients complete the required consent to treatment forms prior to their first session. These forms are an important part of the intake process, as they help us better understand your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. This information allows us to tailor our approach from the very first session, ensuring that your care is personalized, thoughtful, and aligned with your needs. Completing these forms in advance also helps us maximize your session time so we can focus more fully on your goals and the therapeutic work itself.
Fees and Payment Options:
Our individual therapy sessions are $170 per hour. We believe in transparency when it comes to fees, so there are no hidden costs or unexpected charges. To make payment as convenient as possible, we offer several secure options, including e-transfer, Visa, and MasterCard. You are welcome to choose whichever method is easiest for you. If you have any questions about fees, payment, or insurance coverage, we are always available to provide clarification and support.
Insurance:
While we do not provide direct billing to insurance companies at this time, many extended health benefit plans cover psychotherapy and social work services. After each session, you will receive a detailed receipt that can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance company in advance to confirm your specific coverage details, including whether services provided by a Registered Social Worker or Psychotherapist are included in your plan.
First Session Considerations:
We understand that starting therapy can feel both hopeful and intimidating, and we want to make your first session as comfortable and welcoming as possible. We encourage you to arrive a few minutes early to ensure you have time to complete any remaining consent forms and settle in. During your first session, we will take time to get to know you, understand what brings you to therapy, and begin discussing your goals and what you hope to get out of the process. There is no pressure to share everything at once—therapy is a gradual process, and we will move at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you. If you have any questions at any point, we are here to support you and help ease any uncertainty.
In-Person vs. Online Sessions:
At this time, Harmony Healing Psychotherapy offers virtual therapy sessions only. Our online sessions are conducted through secure, confidential video platforms designed to protect your privacy and ensure a safe therapeutic experience. Virtual therapy allows you to access high-quality, professional support from the comfort and privacy of your own home or chosen space. Many clients find that online therapy offers greater flexibility, reduced travel time, and increased comfort, making it easier to prioritize their mental health within their daily lives. We are committed to making therapy as accessible and supportive as possible, no matter where you are located within Ontario or Nova Scotia.
